Vintage love!
I have a couple of vintage-ish items, but nothing, nothing like these dresses.
I'm going to Heaven wearing this dress.

Ann Taylor
When I first entered the workforce and was able to shop for my own clothes, Ann Taylor was my frequent stop: blouses, dress pants, pretty wool skirts, you name it, anything that was on sale in the store, they were my grown up clothes! Then the brand lost me for some years after that, clothes were boring, overpriced...
So when I saw these shoes, I made a mental note for myself to visit Ann Taylor. I was at the mall last week and saw this jacket:

It was so, so beautiful in person! I touched, sighed and left. Maybe when it goes on sale that I can buy it. I can imagine myself wearing for years to come.
The website also got an make over, I love the way they list everything thumbnail style, pardon my choice of words, I think that's what its' called (?). Look at the shoes section!

Back to jackets...pretty!!

Elisabeth Messina - Kiss the groom.
I'm starting to belive that Elisabeth Messina has magic with her camera or whatever she uses to take her pictures. The red dress...please let me know if you know where it comes from. Too beautiful.

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor day. Visit A Cup of Jo to read so many wondeful secrets to happy marriages. Some of my favorites so far are:
* According to my grandfather: "Any disagreement can be settled with two words: 'Yes, dear.' ". (Jessica)
*Talk it out: No matter how angry you are, talking always helps. (Grace Bonney )
*"Once the initial courtship is finished, be real about who you are. I'm not a cook, I can be organizationally challenged--but I've never pretended otherwise. You don't need to be perfect, just be yourself. Because once you find that special someone you just can't live without, everything else is bonus from there," (Patrick and Erica )

Calypso St. Barth
Do you dream of going to St. Barth? I do, and I'd like to think that I'm saving up for that trip. In the mean time, you can buy for yourself a little St. Barth. Of course the purchase will put myself further away from that dreamy vacation. Well, at least take a look, will you?
This necklace could go so well with so many things, definitely an investment piece! It was paired with a light blouse but I think it's also perfect for my boyfriend blazer or instantly updates that LBD in the back of my closet.

Silk, check. Rose embellishment, check. Pleated, check. Purple, check! Sort of perfect, isn't it?

Boyfriend Blazer
The weather took a shift into Fall mode this week around here. I have no complaint. I'll take anything after the wet and humid summer that we just had.
I've been eyeing the boyfriend blazer trend ever since it came out. I love blazers. They are so easy to wear and you can dress up any outfit instantly.
I'm becoming selective in term of buying new clothings. When I moved this summer, I got sick looking at all my clothes and shoes, things that I only wore one season then never to wear them again. I always do a quick cost-per-wear calculation before purchasing anything now. I try to stick with basic stuff, stylish but not too trendy. I think a boyfriend blazer fits in that category.
Here are some in order of my preferences, starting with least favorite.
Studded boyfriend blazer from Express. Cute but too trendy.

Boyfriend blazer from Express.

7 For All Mankind Skinny Blazer from Shopbop. Very cute but out of my price range.

J.Crew Boyfriend blazer. I always like the way J.Crew blazer fits on me. Again, out of my price range.

The winner of all, suprisingly, from GAP. I like the double-breasted detail and I'm pretty sure I have a Gap coupon somewhere at home.

Kate Towers
There is a city that I must visit when I can travel. Take a guess my friends. No, it's not California, Chicago, not even Europe thou that is also in my top list. It's Portland, Oregon. I'm sure that you don't find it strange if you spend tons of time roaming through Etsy or the fashion blog world. I can easily name at least 10 of my favorite artists that are now based in this charming city.

Kate Towers is designer that I've discovered a while ago and now I'm dreaming to own one of her pieces. Luckily for me, she has an Etsy store that I can't wait to purchase from once the shop is replenished.
Everything about this piece is perfect! I especially love the puffy sleeves!

FCUK Sale!
I haven't visited French Connection store for a while. Last time I was there, the brand gave me an impression of overpriced trendy clothes. Not that I don't love all the new trends, I can't really afford to buy clothes that I can only wear for one season.
When I was at the mall last week, FCUK's big blue Sale sign caught my attention. I stopped by and was pleasantly surprised at their collection. Sale racks were full with lovely dresses which were once overpriced. I live in dresses so of course, I felt right at home. I tried on a couple of them but only walked out with this lovely "Spring Frills" dress: from $178, now $49.99! (Machine wash, double YAY!)

I love this dress in all colors but they didn't have my size in store. FCUK.com has it available still but I'm not the biggest fan of shipping so I think I'll pass for now. Meet Miss Lancelot dress: from $188, now $79.99.

I also adore Miss Sunburst, from $198 to $59.99. I can totally wear this alone for the Summer, then with leggings or even skinny jeans (depending on how long this looks on me) when Fall come.
